Oxford City Stars have reformed and will play in the new National Ice Hockey League Division 2 South in the upcoming season.
Stars who folded in January after a mass exodus of players following the sacking of player-coach Ken Forshee.
But they are now back in business.
And they have announced their first signings with the return to Oxford of Darren Elliott, Jeff Sykora and Joe Oliver.
Elliott, 33, known locally as ‘Mr Oxford’, has played nearly all of his career at Oxpens Road.
He will form the coaching team with American Sykora, who will be in his second season with Stars.
In addition to their roles in the senior side, both will continue to be very active with Oxford Junior Stars.
Oliver was Stars’ leading scorer with 31 goals in 20 games in the 2011-12 season, before the club folded.
