Oxford City 1, Paulton Rovers 1: Oxford City should have won their Southern League Division 1 South & West clash at Court Place Farm last night by a clear margin, but were held to a disappointing draw.
Early on, Mark Jones had a good chance to put City ahead but got the ball tangled between his legs.
Then Mark Avery saw his strong shot cleared off the line.
City enjoyed most of the possession, and kept going forward but didn't create enough opportunities, although Danny Keen had arguably the best chance after a good cross from Harry Burnley.
But on 54 minutes City lost keeper Carl Wilkins who, in making a decent stop from Nick Bunyard's shot, twisted his ankle in the process, and was replaced in goal by Greg Williams.
With 74 minutes gone, City broke the deadlock when Lewis Craker scored from close range in a crowded goalmouth.
It looked as though City were heading for the three points, especially as Williams was not called upon to make a save.
But out of the blue, with six minutes remaining, Mark Harrington drove into the top corner to rescue Paulton a point.
Oxford City: Wilkins (Lane 54), Durrant, G Williams, Avery, Craker, Takriti, Burnley (R Williams 80), Merritt, Alleyne, Keen (Stewart 73), Jones.
Referee: A Matthews (Melksham).
