North Berks League: Defender Matt Williams hit the last-gasp winner as Division 3 side Kingsclere twice came from behind to pull off a shock 3-2 victory against Harwell Village in the first round of the North Berks Charity Shield.

Although Matty Aplin's opener from the penalty spot was cancelled out by Williams's first, a stunning volley, Matty Hinchliffe restored Harwell's advantage.

And with only five minutes left it looked as though Kingsclere's Shield hopes had ended.

However, Dan Cicchetti equalised with a diving header and 60 seconds later centre back Williams once again went up into attack thumped home the winner from close range.

Sutton Courtenay are through after an 8-6 thriller against Challow United.

It looked all over as Sutton cruised into a 5-1 half-time lead.

However, Challow staged an amazing comeback as a six-goal salvo saw them nose ahead.

But Sutton ruined their day with three late goals.

Challow's scorers were Kevin Pryde (2,) Joe Ledbury (2), Geoff Haines and Danny Taylor, while Nuno Fernandes (3), Ian Dingwall (2), Ben Duke, Joe Dixon and Wayne Woodward replying.

A hat-trick from Tom Weeks helped Ardington & Lockinge to a 4-1 win against Warborough & Shillingford. Andy Woodhouse got their other.

Steventon, who knocked East Hendred out of the County Cup two weeks ago, did it again, dumping them out of the shield with a 4-1 drubbing.

Stuart Fisher netted a hat-trick with Paul Churchouse also on target. Jason Fisher replied.

Harwell International strode through to the next round following a 4-0 win at Botley United with strikes from Nick Townsend, Dave Bartlett, Tom Baptie and Simon Rees.

Benson Lions won 3-2 at Uffington United with goals from Chris Parker (2) and Ian Whittle.

In the North Berks Cup, holders Lambourn Sports reached the second round with a 3-0 success against Marcham, Jason Brizell, Chris Collins and Rob Collard on target.

Long Wittenham had their goalkeeper, Dave Lynch, sent off as they crashed out of the league Cup with a 6-1 thrashing by Grove Rangers Res.

Dave Stebbing and Dan Philips bagged braces, Alan Swan and Terry Linford also on target.

In Division 1, Lee Ruddle and Robbie Harrington both scored twice as Faringdon Town moved up to third place after a 4-2 win against Drayton.

A goal from substitute Shane Preece-Tripp earned Saxton Rovers a 1-0 win over Blewbury.

Scott Griffin, Shane Blake and Christian Ayres, all with hat-tricks, were among the scorers for East Hendred Res as they thrashed second-placed Coleshill Res 10-1 in Division 3.
