Cherwell School’s under 15s pipped Doncaster’s Danum Academy 59-57 to win the Dynamik National School Championships at Nottingham Wildcats Arena.
Calvin Tse’s basket in the final seconds gave the Oxford lads a thrilling victory just as the conference final looked to be heading into overtime.
Adriel George was named as the most valuable player for his 18 points and his end-to-end efforts as Cherwell captured their first championship, while captain Isaac Parry shone in defence.
In the semi-finals, Cherwell posted an impressive 74-53 win over Lampton School, London.
They ended the first half with a 15-point lead, and excellent contributions from Idris Ahmed, Jasper Mendiola and Daniel Novakovic sealed the victory.
