Following their excellent FA Trophy win at Bashley in midweek, Oxford City were brought back down to earth with a disappointing 3-1 in Saturday's Diviison 1 South & West encounter.
Although lacking several key players, they can have no complaints sabout the defeat by Brook House City had an early chance when Alex Stewart drove wide from Anthony Alleyne's pass For the home side, Gary McCloughlin headed over from Steve Hale's cross.
But on 20 minutes, Brook House took the lead when McCloughlin drove just inside the far post.
Six minutes later, City equalised as a long cross to the far post from Greg Williams found Stewart, who picked his spot with a header.
In the 31st minute, City fell behind again when Greg Homer was allowed to turn and drive in through a crowded goalmouth following a corner.
The visitors continued to make hard work of it in the second period, lacking any penetration to cause the home side problems.
The home side sealed it in the 57th minute when a 20-yard free-kick from Hale went through the defensive .
