Witney kept their supporters on tenterhooks before edging past Swindon 22-15.
They started brilliantly before running out of gas as mistakes began to creep in, but in the end, the home side had enough in the tank for a narrow victory.
With the wind at their backs, Witney went ahead with a Tim Muller try converted Henry Lamb, who increased the lead with a penalty.
Swindon were hoping to make the most of the elements in the second half, but Witney went further ahead with a Carl Strutt try, again converted by Henry Lamb.
Swindon got on the scoresheet with a penalty and try, and the danger signs were there for Witney when another Swindon try cut the deficit to 17-15.
James Burke fed Thom Murton for a try to ease home nerves and although Swindon hammered away at the Witney line in the closing stages, they were unable to reply again.
