Vale TKD instructor Carl Davis kept up his winning spree by striking gold at the English Open Championships at Guildford Spectrum.
He triumphed in the 71kg adult black belt sparring to continue his unbeaten run after winning every national championships in 2011.
He said: “I am very proud of my achievements last year. I want to continue my winning streak, so it was important to win the first competition of the year and continue to improve.”
Clubmates Kris Humphreys and Rauf Birler won bronze.
Humphreys was third in the 75kg colour belt adult sparring, while Birler took the minor honours in 71kg colour belt junior sparring.

In a bid to increase interest in the sport in the Wantage and Henley area, he is offering one month’s free training.
