MARSTON AC have completed a sponsorship deal with new Oxford shop Fishing Tackle and Bait (FTB) at 43, Westlands Drive, Oxford.
The deal, which is for an initial three years, has enabled them to rejoin the Oxford and District Anglers Association after many years.
The club’s match secretary, Steve Tomkins, said: “The sponsorship is great news for anyone joining the club as it has enabled us to maintain last year’s permit price, but with the added advantage of being able to fish all of the ODAA waters as well as our own sections of the River Cherwell.”
FTB owners Chris Quainton and Marc Taggart said: “We are very pleased to be putting something back into the sport and more importantly something back into the local fishing community.
“Marston AC is an old established club that we are delighted to be associated with and hopefully the sponsorship will help them grow.”
Marston permits for next season cost £10 for seniors and £5 for OAPs and juniors and are available from local tackle shops.
Meanwhile, Marston’s points competitions have been decided.
Aggregate points: 1 Steve Tomkins 176, 2 Graham Bradshaw 149, 3 Antony Tomkins 137.
