Wantage jockey Cathy Gannon rode her first winner since making her comeback after five months on the sidelines with victory aboard Strictly Pink at Lingfield yesterday.
The four-year-old filly had been the Irish-born rider’s first competitive ride since breaking a leg in October when third at the Surrey course last Friday.
And Alan Bailey’s charge did Gannon proud this time with a comeback winner in the six-furlong fillies’ handicap.
She made all the running on the 11-4 favourite to beat Secret Queen by half a length.
Gannon said: “I was out for five months and it was a very frustrating time, so it’s great to be back with a bang.
“Hopefully there’ll be plenty more winners to come.”
