CHINNOR head coach Jason Bowers felt their comeback against Bournemouth merited victory and praised his players’ character.
Bowers said: “I thought we played some really great rugby and probably deserved to win after coming back the way we did, so it was very frustrating.
“I’m very proud of them.
“It was a disappointing first half. I don’t think we did ourselves justice and we got into a bit of trouble.
“In the second half, we really did well and got control of the ball. We were one kick away from a dramatic win.
“We showed a lot of character by the way we battled back.”
He added: “I thought Matt Goode was outstanding in the centre and Tom Mowbray had a strong game in the second row.
“I was just disappointed with the result.”
Bournemouth director of rugby David Dunn said: “At half-time, we had got the game absolutely spot on. We had established a cushion, got the lead and were happy.
“We came out in the second half and Chinnor came back into the game. They raised their game and stretched us wide.
“I couldn’t have asked any more of the players. We got what we deserved in the end and that was the victory.”
