Ardley United squandered the chance to draw level on points with Oxford City Nomads – who were without a game – at the top of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division as they crashed to a 1-0 defeat at home to Binfield.
The decisive goal came after 24 minutes when Dean Smith attempted to clear a Carl Davies cross, but only succeeded in finding his own net.
Witney Town boosted their hopes of beating the drop with a 1-0 win at relegation rivals Fairford Town.
Sean Webb’s 81st minute-strike divided the teams.
Ryan Curtin’s 68th-minute equaliser earned struggling Kidlington a 1-1 draw at home to Slimbridge.
Andrew Sheppard had fired the visitors ahead in the 51st minute.
Adam Lovegrove bagged a second-half brace in Abingdon Town’s 3-1 win at Cheltenham Saracens.
Piers McGlynn’s opener for Abingdon after 29 minutes had been cancelled out by Elliott Kennedy seven minutes later.
But Lovegrove volleyed in Lewis Gabbidon’s corner after 55 minutes, before firing home Mark Janes’s cross in the last minute.
Substitute Steve Robertson’s 80th-minute equaliser earned Shrivenham’s ten men a 1-1 draw at home to Wantage Town.
The hosts had goalkeeper Richard Hanley harshly sent off on the stroke of half-time after he upended Richie Claydon, who converted the penalty past makeshift keeper Paul Sanders.
But Shrivenham rallied in the second half, and Robertson charged down Gareth Tucker’s attempted clearance from a back pass, before clipping the ball over thte retreating keeper.
David Hoar’s double helped Henley Town win 4-3 at home to Holyport.
Adam Jeffrey and Gary Smith also netted for the victors, with Jamie Handscomb (2) and Gary Nuth replying.
Andrew Stidder bagged a brace as Easington Sports cruised to a 6-2 win at home to Purton in Division 1 West.
Steve Howkins, Callum Convey, James Trevitt and an own goal made up Easington’s tally, with Marcus Hall and Nick McCrae replying.
Carterton’s late season improvement continued with a 2-0 win at home to bottom club Trowbridge Town.
Michael Duerden and Nick Dawood were on target for Carterton.
Hook Norton won 2-1 at home to Brimscombe & Thrupp with goals from Chris Tillcock and Mark Dennis.
Ben Jones scored for Brimscombe.
Tom Mudge’s 70th-minute strike gave bottom club Didcot Town Res a 1-0 win at Thatcham Town in Division 1 East.
Letcombe went down 4-3 at Finchampstead.
Lyle Gifford, with a 25-yard free-kick, Mark Brind and Tom Eatwell, with his first goal for the club, netted for Letcombe.
But strikes from Richard Kell, Gavin Rolls, Kylo Atkinson and Dan Willis gave Finchampstead the points.
