CHINNOR reached the semi-finals of the National Colts Cup after a nerve-jangling 11-10 victory at home to Doncaster.
Replacement fly half George Grosse kicked the winning penalty after Doncaster, whose senior side play in the Championship, battled back to lead 10-8.
Chinnor, who will now travel to holders Bedford in the last four on Easter Saturday, April 7, opened the scoring with a try from captain George Blewitt.
Will Millett made it 8-0 with a penalty, but two second-half tries put Doncaster ahead.
The visitors fumbled a scoring chance from the final play as Chinnor held on.
The Thame club now face a very big Easter Saturday.
As well as that semi-final, Chinnor visit Redingensians in a crucial National 3 South promotion clash and field another side against Henley in the Oxfordshire Cup final.
- GOSFORD All Blacks and Chipping Norton each won two titles at Bicester’s Mini/Midi Rugby Festival.
Gosford took the under 10 and 12 honours, with their under 7s runners-up.
Chippy beat Bicester in the under 11 final, their C team won the under 8 prize and they were also under 9 runners-up.
