WITNEY Road Runner Elysia Ridley helped Wales to team bronze in the Home Countries Cross Country International at Rouken Glen, Scotland.
Ridley (pictured), who was making her Welsh debut, finished tenth in the senior ladies’ race, clocking 26mins 28secs.
She was the third Welsh runner ho-me to complete their scoring team, after Sian Edwards in sixth and Katie Parry (ninth).
England finished first, followed by Scotland.
Running for a Midlands guest team, White Horse Harrier Fra-nces Briscoe clock-ed 26.07 for seventh place.
Oxford University student Jess Chen, 18, finished eighth in the under 20 ladies’ race, recording 19.40 as the fourth English runner home.
In the mens’ under 20 race, Oxford University’s Tom Frith bagged a medal double.
Frith, 19, won bronze in a time of 22.44 and helped England to team gold, with winner Charlie Maclean and Daniel Woodgate (fourth) the other scorers.
- TIM Doole set a new Headington Road Runners club record at the Rhayader Round the Lakes race in Wales.
Doole completed the undulating 20-mile event in 2hrs 11mins 54secs to finish in 11th place.
