Oxford Hawks women travelled to Essex for their last away Conference East game of the season, beating Chelmsford 2-1 to move up to fourth.
Kara Haines powered a drag-flick into the corner to open the scoring, and Jo Hutton made it 2-0.
Chelmsford pulled one back with 15 minutes left, but keeper Jenna Holmes ensured all three points for Hawks.
Banbury, hovering above the relegtion zone in South League Division 2, were hammered 8-0 at home by leaders East Grinstead on Saturday, but recovered to pick up three vital points with a 5-2 win at Harrow the next day.
East Grinstead scored from the first pushback and were 5-0 up at the break, but Banbury restricted the visitors to only three more in the second half.
Keeper Susie Pollock was outstanding, while Charlie Moran also shone.
Banbury travelled to basement club Harrow without several of their younger players, but were comfortable winners as Pippa Duncan Jones and Sadie Lapper led the way.
Oxford went down 3-1 in the rain at Brighton & Hove in Division 2.
A deflected shot was saved on the line by Sophie Shilston, only for Brighton to pounce on the rebound to open the scoring.
This galvanised Oxford, and they were soon level when Kim Haynes’s cross found Catherine Reaney, who deflected a shot into the net.
Hayley Sawyer and Haynes had a series of efforts saved by the Brighton keeper, but the home side were more decisive in front of goal, adding two more goals to take the points.
Lyn Cockshott bagged four goals in Oxford 2nd’s 5-5 draw with Teddington 2nd in Division 3 A.
Witney, with new captain Lucy Reading at the helm, ran out 2-1 winners over Staines 2nd in Division 3A Staines went ahead from a short corner, but Witney roared back as Karen Easterbrook equalised five minutes later, and then Joy Mangazi converted a penalty flick. Witney’s player-of-the-match, keeper Sam Ayres, made several outstanding second-half saves, including one from a penalty flick.
Bicester kept up their promotion push in Trysports Premier 2 with a 4-0 win at Slough 2nd.
Susie Miller’s spectacular volley put them ahead and two further goals from Ella Weston had the points wrapped up before the break.
Slough came back in the second half, but Bicester’s defence held firm and Miller added a fourth.
