Abingdon United are setting all the wrong records.
After Saturday’s decisive 3-0 loss at Clevedon, they have now gone seven Evo-Stik Southern League Diviison 1 South & Westgames – 634 minutes – without scoring.
This is double the number of consecutive goalless games they have suffered in the last 25 years – or even longer.
Richie Bourne’s side have now gone 13 games without a win – with none in 2012 – as they drop closer to the bottom.
Abingdon, who could field only two substitutes, conceded their goals in an 11-minute spell in the first half.
Ashley Kington fired Clevedon ahead, Johnny Moss smacked home following a corner and Giani Kaprica skidded in the third.
Abingdon played some good football, but Sam Collier and Matt Biddle missed good cha-nces, while they had a penalty appeal turned down.
They had the better of the second half, with Collier being denied by a fingertip save.
Abingdon Utd: Foster, Buck, Young (Christodolou 75), Smith, Carnell, Biddle, Doyle (Packer 58), Kingsbeer, Parfitt, Collier, Angell.
Attendance: 90.
