Abingdon Town completed the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division double over Kidlington with a deserved win on Saturday.
First-half pressure from the Abbots resulted in chances but no goals.
Mark Janes blasted over from close range and had another effort disallowed for offside, while Corey Forbes’s 20-yard strike whistled just wide.
Kidlington nearly snatched the lead just before the break as Jack Quainton fizzed a shot over.
The winning goal came in the 55th minute.
Piers McGlyn finished with a neat chip, to beat the onrushing keeper Matt Dixon, after being put through by Adam Lovegrove.
Kidlington pressed for an equaliser, but were kept at bay by Abingdon’s defence, superbly marshalled by centre backs Dan Warne and Paul Alder.
