SANDFORD’S hopes of landing the Banbury Indoor League Division 1 title look to be over after a second successive defeat.
This week they were undone by Preston Capes, who reached Sandford’s paltry target of 73 with nearly three overs to spare.
Ali Jarvis cracked 62 not out and James Risbridger 43 not out to help Banbury to a narrow six-run win over Cropredy, but Banbury A look set for relegation after going down by eight runs to Charlbury.
Title favourites Great Tew thrashed Westbury by 43 runs.
Curtley Slatter (40no) helped Tew make 129-5, before Matt Taylor (3-26) took centre stage as Westbury were dismissed for 86.
