GARY Elkins is back at Didcot Town as first-team coach for a second time.
The former Fulham, Wimbledon and Swindon Town defender took on the same role at the npower Loop Meadow Stadium five years ago after joining Didcot the previous season as reserve team manager.
Manager Dave Mudge said: “It again shows our intention to get the right people at the club ahead of next season’s campaign.
“He has got a lot of experience at pro level and has been on board at Didcot before. He is absolutely top drawer.”
The Railwaymen have been without a first-team coach since Michael Butcher parted company with the club five weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Didcot have signed 16-year-old striker Conor Harris, and he is added to the squad for the trip to runaway leaders Bideford in Division 1 South & West tomorrow.
Mudge added: “He is a local lad and epitomises the sort of player we are looking to nurture.”
Steve Davis, who was unavailable for last week’s 1-0 home win over Clevedon Town, is back, but central midfielder Simeon Howell is out for a month with a dislocated shoulder.
Manager Mark Gee has targeted remaining unbeaten until the end of the season as North Leigh visit fellow promotion play-off hopefuls Paulton Rovers.
Their eight-match winning run since the turn of the year came to an end with a 2-1 home defeat by Bideford last Saturday.
And Gee, who names an unchanged squad, said: “There are eight games remaining and our target is to get an unbeaten run to the end of the season, and the first step starts on Saturday.”
Abingdon United, still seeking their first win of 2012, will be without unavailable duo Carl Evans and Leon Bird for the trip to Clevedon Town.
Left winger Nick Christodoulou returns to the squad.
Manager Richie Bourne said: “I would not say we are playing badly, but we are being punished for not taking our chances.”
