ASA Hall wants to double his goalscoring tally for the season in the remainder of the campaign after finding his shooting boots for Oxford United.
The midfielder had scored just once by the end of February, but has two goals in the last three games after strikes against Swindon Town and Bradford City.
It could easily have been three in three, with Hall hitting the crossbar in the other game in the sequence, at Shrewsbury Town.
The 25-year-old (pictured celebrating his goal against Swindon) acknowledges seven goals in 71 appearances for the U’s is below his expectations, but is optimistic the recent purple patch will lead to more goals during the run-in.
He said: “I haven’t scored anywhere near as many goals as I’d have liked since I’ve been here but two in three’s not a bad return.
“There’s a lot of match time to go, I’m hoping for another three or four before the end of the season.”
Hall has struggled to nail down a place in the starting XI this season, but has played 90 minutes in the U’s last three games.
Another start against Rotherham United on Saturday would be his best run in the side since August and he is focused on reaching top form when the club needs it most.
“I think the goals have helped keep me in the team and cement my place,” he said.
“To get a place back in the team towards the end of the season is great because it’s such an importantime and hopefully I can play a big role in whatever happens.”
