Windrush Social Club duly landed their first Men’s Premier Section title with a revenge win over closest rivals Star Inn.
Needing just one point to secure the championship, Windrush thrashed second placed Star Inn 8-1.
The previous week Star had thwarted Windrush’s title bid with a 7-2 success.
Rose Hill Community Centre took a giant step towards the Section 1 crown when they defeated challengers Cowley Workers 6-3.
The Workers now trail Rose Hill by nine points, with their only remaining game against the Premier champions.
The Section 2 title-decider saw leaders Corner House A triumph 6-3 away to second-placed Three Horseshoes to clinch the crown, Paul Bustin gave the home side an early lead when he beat James Harding, but Corner House replied with wins from Trevor Ballard, who had two maximums, and Dylan Davies.
The Shoes fought back to lead 3-2 thanks to Alan Eckart and Fred Parsons, before Mick Kennett restored parity at 3-3 when he beat Steve Coling.
This was inspite of Coling’s brilliant 157 check-out.
Corner House made sure of the match and the title with a 3-0 pairs win.
Follybridge Inn suffered only their second defeat of the season when they lost 5-4 to second-placed Donnington Community Centre A, but they still finished as Section 3 champions.
Donnington need just two points from their remaining fixture at Marsh Harrier A to secure promotion.
Original Swan A are the Section 4 champions, while Nuffield Bar B collected the Section 5 title. Marston British Legion A celebrated winning the Section 6 crown with their 12th win, by 5-4 against Golden Ball, Masons Arms C clinched the Section 8 title in style when they defeated second-placed Black Horse 8-1.
Three Horseshoes, Garsingtons’ game against the Kite Inn A was postponed, but their 100 per cent record had already secured them the Section 9 title.
Meanwhile, Florence Park Community Centre A need just two points from their last match to retaining the Ladies Premier Section title after 6-3 win over Florence ParkB.
Butchers Arms Witney are the Section 1 champions.
After several near misses Berinsfield Community Centre clinched the Section 2 crown with 6-3 win over the visiting Nuffield Arms A.
Berinsfield finished just two points head of Vikings Social Club A, who crashed to a 5-4 loss at Follybridge Inn A, which destroyed their chances.
Gladiators Social Club B are the Section 3 champions.
All outstanding matches in both men’s and ladies leagues must be played on or before tomorrow.
Games played after this date will not count.
