A disputed goal just after half-time from Anaclet Odhiambo proved decisive as Didcot earned themselves a rare home win against fellow Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West strugglers Clevedon.
In a game of few chances, one goal was always likely to be enough and there was some controversy surrounding the winner.
Kevin Halliday looked to have taken the ball out of play on the left flank.
But the referee’s assistant waved play on, and when it was crossed into the middle, Odhiambo tapped home from close range.
Jonathon Feaver, making his Didcot debut up front, saw his deflected shot fly just over the bar.
After Odhiambo’s decisive intervention, it was Feaver again, who fired a volley just off-target from 20 yards.
The closest Clevedon, suffering their third defeat of the season against Didcot, came to taking a share of the points was a header from Charlie Rich, which flew harmlessly wide.
