Georgina Todd, from the White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre, Abingdon, enjoyed success at an International Tennis Federation junior tournament in Norway.
Todd, competing in the 18 and under section, won through three rounds of qualifying in the singles, beating girls from Norway, Sweden and Germany.
She then lost in the next round to a strong opponent from Denmark.
However it was in the doubles that she really excelled.
Paired with another British player, Dominique Covington, she reached the final.
After beating the top seeds, who came from Russia, in the semi-finals, Todd and Covington lost in the final.
By having such great success in this event, Todd has acquired her first ITF points and gained a ranking of 1794 on the international list.
This means she will stand a much better chance of being accepted in other events around the world over the next 12 months.
