Conor Ingram grabbed a late winner as Oxfordshire Under 16s came from behind to beat Berkshire 3-2 in the South West Counties competition at Abingdon Town.
Oxon trailed to a Harinder Hunjan strike at half-time.
However, they rallied after the break and James Clarke equalised with a low drive.
Liam Marshall lobbed Oxon into the lead, but Jeferson De Carvalho equalised five minutes from time.
Oxon were ahead again within a minute though when Ingram fired home the winner.
VALE of White Horse Under 15s were unable to make it a hat-trick of penalty shoot-out wins as they slipped to a 3-2 defeat on spot-kicks against Slough in the Hobbs Cup semi-final at Milton United.
Having squeezed past Cambridge & District and Swansea from the spot in their ESFA Trophy run to tonight’s semi-final against Bromley at Beckenham Town, Vale this time found their luck had run out.
Eddie Cavanagh again saved two penalties, but although Ross Tanner and Robbie Cundy scored, misses by Jared Jones, Sam Barder and Owen Shaw saw Slough triumph.
The tie had finished 2-2 after normal and extra time, with Vale goals from Anthony Martin and Jordan Davies sandwiched in between Slough strikes.
ST Birinus (Didcot) suffered penalty heartbreak in the ESFA Under 16 Schools’ Cup quarter-finals with a 4-2 shoot-out defeat at home to Shenfield High School.
With the tie finishing 2-2 after extra time, Alan Lee and Ollie Thomas netted for St Birinus from the spot, but Kieran Beesley and Taylor Janes missed as Shenfield converted all four of their penalties.
St Birinus had twice led in normal time with Thomas’s strike and Sam McDermaid’s tap-in cancelled out by Jack Morgan and George Pratt.
Cherwell (Oxford) also bowed out with a 2-0 defeat at St Martin’s (Brentwood), whose goals came from Chris Skingley and Tom Lapslie.
VALE of White Horse Under 11s drew a blank in the ESFA/Tesco Inter-Association Seven-a-side Championship south west regional finals at Keynsham, Bristol.
They failed to qualify from their group after 0-0 draws with St Austell District, Bristol, and West Wiltshire and a 1-0 loss to Poole & East Dorset.
