Oxford top three clubs once again proved that they are the ones to beat.

Oxford Sports (ladies), North Oxford (men) and Oxford City (mixed) were all crowned Division 1 champions in the 3-Pair League - the premier competition in the county.

The ladies' title was by far the closest affair, Sports only clinching the crown on the final day of the season with victory over defending champions City.

Sports can now boast the best ladies' section with their B side winning Division 2.

The men's crown was one-sided, North Oxford winning their first seven matches before suffering their only defeat when fielding just two pairs in their final match against Cholsey to make their two-point winning margin flatter the runners-up.

City won four of their five matches in the mixed league, to clinch the title from second-placed Bicester.

The only championship up in the air has been won by Banbury.

They went into their final Men's Division 2 match against Bicester with both sides boasting 100 per cent records.

But Banbury proved too strong, their 7-2 win securing a return to the top flight as champions.

In the 2-Pair League, Benson (ladies), Cholsey (men's) and Oxford Sports (mixed) won the top titles.

Benson were unbeaten in Ladies Division 1, securing a two-point winning margin over Wantage.

The same deficit separated Cholsey from Norham Gardens in the men's section.

But it was much closer in the mixed league, where Sports only beat Cholsey on rubber count after both teams finished on 11 points.

Cholsey won more matches than Sports, but the latter's three draws proved crucial.

Wantage were only a point behind in third.
