Witney Town’s Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division survival hopes look even bleaker following a 6-0 thrashing by Thame United at Marriott’s Stadium on Saturday.
They remain 11 points from safety, and such was the manner of this battering it’s hard to see them escaping.
Thame took the lead after six minutes through Alex Stewart.
And two goals in quick succession before half-time from Ben Gray and James Faulkner in the 37th and 38th minutes effectively ended the game as a contest.
Luke Ricketts made it 4-0 for a rampant Thame in the 49th minute, and Faulkner grabbed his second after 64 minutes.
Witney’s woe was complete when Gray’s second in the last minute sealed Thame’s emphatic win.
