David Noake won twice as Abingdon RBL came from behind to beat Riley A 4-2 in the second round of the Gent-works Oxford & District League’s Simmonds Cup.
Noake won a tight first frame 62-55 against James Stone in this all-Premier Diviison clash, before victories from Chris Stone, who had a 40-break and Andy MacBryan put Riley ahead.
But three wins in a row from Noake, Robbie Adcock and Kevin Higgs saw Abingdon home.
In a hotly-contested Sherlock Cup second-round tie between two Divison 3 teams from the same club, Headington RBL B beat their A side 4-3.
With the teams sharing the six frames, the B team edged the contest by gaining an extra point on aggregate score.
Matthew Jacob was the star by taking tnhe last two frames for the victors.
Another team to win on the tie-break were Cowley Conservative A, against Oracle C.
Pom Merola won twice for Oracle, but finished on the losing side as Keith Pearce took the last two frames easily to give his side a 315-282 aggregate success.
Cowley Conservative C, from Division 3, edged past Division 4 opponents Witney D 296-270 on aggregate for a 4-3 win.
