Didcot Town came so close to causing an upset, but in the end had settle for 2-2 draw at Heybridge Swifts taking their Essex-based Ryman Premier opponents to a replay at the Loop Meadow Stadium tomorrow night.
The visitors led with ten minutes to go, but then conceded a late equaliser.
Swifts started strongly, with close efforts from Jamie Richards and defender Ian Wiles in the first few minutes.
And they took they lead when Gareth Heath bundled home.
Didcot levelled midway through the first half when Ian Concannon ran onto Stuart Beavon's pass and thumped the ball home from the edge of the box.
Beavon then saw a deflected shot hit the side-netting.
With a brisk wind behind them after the interval, Didcot were on top for long periods.
They took ther lead when Jack King and Beavon combined to tee-up Jamie Brooks, who made no mistake from 12 yards.
Beavon then grazed the top of the bar with a brilliant volley from distance.
Swifts keeper Jamie Bowyer had to be at his best to beat away a stinging Beavon shot in the 71st minute.
Moments later, his side had another let-off when referee Mike George waved away Didcot's claims for a penalty after Jamie Heapy was upended in the box.
Heybridge capitalised on their good fortune when Heath fired home left-footed past Chris Webb to equalise.
Brooks almost sealed it for the visitors with a great run and shot which was superbly saved by Bowyer, while Heath headed tamely over the bar from ten yards for Swifts.
