Jo Lightly, one of Oxford's top greyhounds over the past three years, has had to call it a day.
Jo (pictured), trained by Angie Kibble, broke down in a comeback trial on Monday and owner Chris Trinder decided he'd had enough and ought to be retired.
Voted Greyhound of the Year in 2004-5, he has the proud record of winning 35 of his 111 starts, with a best time of 26.91.
A decision on whether he takes up stud duties will be made later.
