FA Youth Cup: Goalkeeper Alex Williams was the hero as he helped Oxford City reach the second qualifying round after a nerve-tingling 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory against Fleet Town at Court Place Farm.

With the sides locked at 6-6 after extra-time, Williams, who saved a penalty in normal time, did it again, keeping out Fleet's first spot kick.

His teammates Michael Betnay, Lewis Colwell and Joel Meade all scored, and after Fleet missed their third spot kick, Stephen Davis smashed home the crucial penalty.

There was litle hint of the drama to come as City strolled into a 2-0 lead.

Keiron Lewis, standing in as skipper for the absent Ben Hepburn, got the opener on 15 minutes, firing home from a corner.

Fleet tried to get back into the game, with Williams making a good save and Lewis clearing off the line, before City doubled their advantage through Ajay Lloyd from a Davis cross.

After the break, Williams made the first of his two penalty saves.

But he could do nothing when Fleet scored from the spot on 80 minutes and with just six minutes left, Fleet levelled.

City stormed back with Lewis netting his second deep into injury time, after Laurence El-Kassir's header rebounded off the bar.

But with less than a minute left, Fleet equalised after a mix-up in City's defence to send the tie into extra time.

Davis made it 4-3 to City, only for Fleet to take the lead with two goals in six minutes.

Jetmir Kamberi headed City level, before Fleet hit back to lead 6-5.

But with two minutes left, Mark Bell levelled after Lewis's header from Davis's cross hit the bar. Fleet could have snatched it at the end, but Lewis Colwell cleared off the line. Then came the dramatic finale.
