Chris Wilder says that Oxford are in discussions with West Ham over the return on striker Rob Hall – but says that the situation needs to be resolved one way or another.

Hall has had two loan spells at United this season, but both times has been recalled by the Hammers.

Wilder says that he would like to keep Hall at the club, but does not want a yo-yo situation where the striker is going backwards and forwards.

Hall came on as a substitute for West Ham in their New Year’s Day match at Derby, but did not make the 16 against Coventry on Monday.

Wilder will be keeping a close eye on the transfer dealings of the Hammers this month.

With new players coming in, he feels Hall may be allowed to once again be loaned to the U’s.

“We are still in dialogue with West Ham,” he said. “I should think that they are looking to strengthen in the transfer window so fingers crossed that might help us.

“We are happy with the situation with West Ham letting us have him, but we have to make sure it’s not one where he keeps coming back, keeps going, keeps coming back...we have to settle that situation a little bit and hopefully we can do that.

“But he is their player and when they feel it right to let him go back out on loan I am sure that he will want to come back here.”
