Cheetahs avoid wooden spoon OXFORD Cheetahs ensured they will not receive the wooden spoon by beating Arena Essex in their final home Sky Sports Elite League fixture on Wednesday night.
Cheetahs enjoyed a 55-37 success to condemn Arena to the bottom spot.
Star of the show was guest rider Adam Shields, who recorded a 15-point maximum. He was well-supported by David Howe with a paid 14, Adam Skornicki (paid 13) and Davey Watt (paid 10).
Oxford were without skipper Todd Wiltshire , who was competing in the Swedish League play-offs.
The teams meet again tonight in the Cheetahs' final match of the season.
