Stephen Steptoe got the other, while Stephen Madge replied for Hendred.
Ardington & Lockinge kept up their good start as they won 3-1 at Blewbury.
Steve Cuddon, Billy Warner and Alan Haines got the goals as they remain unbeaten in four games.
Drayton eased to a 2-0 success against Coleshill United, with goals from Robert Stanley and Danny Curran.
Wootton & Dry Sandford showed their title ambitions as they beat Appleton 6-5 in the Division 2 top-of-the-table clash.
A Joffy Boreham double and a Damian Dodds strike saw Wootton go 3-0 up in the first 12 minutes.
Wootton keeper Phil Rose then saved a penalty before Mark Loveridge made it 4-0.
Although Steve Roberts pulled a goal back, Cooke increased their advantahe with his second.
After the break, Gary Wilson reduced the arrears, only for Cooke to complete his hat-trick.
But Appleton did not give up, with Andy Cooper (2) and Eddie Gilkes setting up a close finish.
Harwell International are up to second despite drawing 2-2 with Stanford- in-the-Vale.
Tom Baptie and Tom Davies netted for Harwell with Dean Grimes and Richard Evans replying.
Long Wittenham Athletic picked up their first point with a 4-4 draw against Saxton Rovers Res.
