WITNEY Under 16s defeated Oxford Under 16s 39-7 in a friendly - despite lending their hosts players.
They scored early tries through Jake Smith, George Lewis and Callum Heslam.
Soon after the break, Jack Reardon ran in a try from the half-way line.
Oxford scored from a scrum. This galvanised Witney and Josh Jones scored two tries with Chris Rowe also crossing. Sam Miller converted two.
The only down side for Witney saw Heslam suffer a broken radius in his right arm.
ABINGDON Under 16s hung on to beat Swindon Under 16s 27-26 in a friendly.
They started full of confidence which was rewarded with an early try for centre Ben Greehy.
Swindon, however, began to dominate and ran in three tries to take a 19-5 lead.
Just before half-time, winger Jamie Cummings scored in the corner.
Abingdon upped their game in the second half with both Greehy and Cummings completing try braces and scrum half Alex McLaughlin scoring under the posts for skipper Tom Crowe to convert.
