Oxford's Jason Plato is involved in a three-way battle to become Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Champion .
Matt Neal, Plato and Colin Turkington will ber vying for the title at the BTCC finals day at Silverstone on October 15 following three rounds at Brands Hatch.
Plato won the first two races for SEAT, while Fabrizio Giovanardi stood on the top step later in the day after giving Vauxhall their 101st win in the BTCC.
The third race saw championship leader Neal crash out in his Team Halfords Honda, allowing Plato and Team RAC MG driver Turkington to finish third and fourth and score the points they needed to take the title-fight to the wire.
Defending champion Neal, who finished second in the first two races, now leads Plato by the significantly decreased margin of 35 points, although he remains firm favourite to become the first back-to-back champion since 1987.
Plato said: "It's not down to me to win it. - it's for Matt to throw away."
Adderbury racer Will Bratt saw his hopes for a top- six finish in the Formula Renault UK Championship standings all but ended at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, following a weekend of frustration .
The 18-year-old, who is backed by Apotex Pharmaceuticals, was unhappy after qualifying in tenth position for round 17 and 12th on the grid for round 18 on the tricky 1.2-mile Indy Circuit which historically provides processional races In the first race, Bratt's engine cut out on the last lap, dropping him from ninth to 14th place, while he came 11th in the second race.
