Didcot had to settle for a share of the points in Southern League Division 1 South & West with a pulsating game 2-2 draw with Windsor & Eton at the Loop Meadow Stadium on Saturday.

Windsor attacked almost at will for much of the first half as Didcot struggled to retain possession.

The visitors' pressure finally told when a long ball evaded everyone to leave Matt Seedel - who had missed two sitters earlier - the simple task of side-footing home from 15 yards to put the Royalists ahead.

Stuart Beavon's rasping 30 yard free-kick almost got Didcot level, but Sam Mazurek saved at the second attempt.

On the stroke of half-time, Didcot should have grabbed an equaliser when Beavon headed wide with only Mazurek to beat.

The home side were much brighter after the interval and were on level terms almost immediately. Jamie Brooks went down in the box under a challenge from Mazurek and Beavon thumped home the penalty.

Beavon then shot inches wide before debutant Marvin Bartley put Didcot in front with almost his first touch in the 71st minute.

Windsor were unlucky to have a Michael Chennels header ruled out for an infringement, but with only three minutes left, they salvaged a point when Grant Goodall headed Terry O'Connor's deep cross into his own net.

Didcot: Webb, Goodall, Jack (Bianchini 58), Campbell, Weatherstone (Bartley 67), Parrott, Heapy, King, Brooks, Beavon, Powell.
