Abingdon United were deprived of a Southern League Division 1 South & West point when Brook House clinched a 3-2 victory in the last minute United put the visitors under the cosh at the start, but were under severe pressure themselves by the end of the first half.

They were ahead inside two minutes when Luke Holden slid a pass into the path of Jermaine Ferreira, who smashed the ball home.

The last 20 minutes of the half belonged to the visitors, but the Abingdon back four smothered their efforts time and again, with Richard Peirson producing a fine defensive display.

In the second half, House continued to call the tune and forced keeper Simon Tricker into some fine saves.

On 57 minutes, the visitors levelled through Kirkland, and three minutes later, Jarvis made it 2-1.

United manager Andy Slater threw on Ryan Brooks in the 65th minute and within a couple of minutes he made it 2-2 with a delightful goal.

As Holden was challenged and went down, the ball ran loose on the edge of the area and Brooks flighted his shot high into the far top corner.

This sparked Abingdon to up their tempo and the game went end to end with both sides searching for a winner.

Kirkland headed against the bar and was later denied by Tricker. But the same player set up the winner for Perreira just seconds before the final whistle.
