Witney big fish expert Alan Storey has set an amazing record, after landing his 21st roach in five years to go over three pounds, writes Andy Webber His latest catch weighed in at 3lb 3oz and was taken from a local gravel pit.
Alan was actually targeting tench, but instead, landed roach weighing 3.3, 3.2, 2.15 and 2l.10.
He fed a swim close to a marginal reed bed with hemp and micro pellets and used whittled down hair-rigged Dynamite Baits Tiger Nut boilies.
This latest catch is an anglers' dream.
Roach of this size are rare, and to catch 21 over the three pound barrier is quite an achievement!
