OXFORD trainers ruled the roost by landing four of the five www.lovethe- dogs.com series of open races at Oxford Stadium on Tuesday.

oThey took full advantage of just 11 visiting trainers fielding runners to dominate the night.

Beautiful Energy, Ron Bicknell's consistent black bitch, continued her fine form by landing her first open at a handsome 10-1.

It was her fifth win from her last six starts and completed a hat-trick of victories.

Next up was Alan Stevens' smart sprinter Borna Miller, who fully justified his even money starting price in his first outing here since July.

Prima Maestro, who had been unlucky in his two open races for trainer Ian Wills, beat the Tommy Foster-trained Occupation Blue in impressive fashion.

Oxford's quartet of winners was completed in fine style by the Paddy Curtin-trained Farloe Blond, who was notching up his third win in a row and a second successive open success, having prevailed here a week earlier over four bends.

The meeting also saw new trainers Terry Kibble and Robert Hannan break their ducks with Reenview Shaun, in the A8, and Mystic Tribe, in the A3 respectively.

To round off a good night's racing, litter brothers Broadacres Vida and Broadacres Aoife produced a barn- storming finish to the A5 with only a cigarette paper splitting the pair as Vida gained the verdict.

NEGOTIATIONS are still in hand to try and save this year's Maiden Derby at Oxford.

The race is in doubt through the lack of a sponsor.

THE pressure on the racing office has been relieved this week with the grading strength showing an upward trend for the first time in months. It now stands at 399.

TRAINER Terry Atkins's foursome, representing Oxford in the Channel 4 golf tournament in aid of the Retired Greyhound Trust, finished a creditable sixth out of 26.
