BANBURY under 8s finished runners-up in the Northampton Saints matchday tournament – and received their medals in front of 11,000 fans at Franklin’s Gardens.

The squad of Callum Davies, Henry Talbot, Joshua Vance, Henry White, Toby Bradshaw, Edward Brown, Charlie Robertson and Ewan Craig were pipped 25-5 by Old Northamptonians in the final.

Then their medals were presented as part of the LV= Cup match between Northampton and Saracens.

Meanwhile, Banbury’s under 11s triumphed in the Broadstreet Festival at Coventry.

After being held to a scoreless draw by Old Coventrians, victories of 30-0 against Rugby Lions, 25-0 against Harbury and a 40-0 demolition of Broadstreet gave Banbury the honours.

Banbury Under 12s were runners-up in a tournament at Rugby St Andrews, where the group stages saw them score nine unanswered tries through James Price (3), Ollie Poole (3), Isaac Seiger, Tom MacDonald and Josh Herbert.

Banbury beat Barkers Butts 5-0 in the semi-final, but lost 15-5 to Towcester in the final.
