CHINNOR head coach Jason Bowers is hoping for a more comfortable time at Weston-super-Mare when he takes his side there in National 3 South West tomorrow.

Last season, Chinnor pipped Weston 25-21 last season with an 80th-minute James Serrano try.

And with the Somerset side having hammered Bridgwater & Albion 50-3 last week, Bowers’s men will face a side full of confidence.

Bowers said: “It is always tough down at Weston. They have recruited well over the summer.

“Hopefully we can get another victory, but not as late in the day as last time.”

Bowers is able to name an unchanged squad, giving centre combination Sam Stoop and Matt Goode the chance to build on the three tries they scored against Old Patesians last week.

“We’ve got no new injuries,” said Bowers. “We will be picking the side for tactical reasons.”

Struggling Oxford Harlequins face an early defining point to their season when they host basement boys Bridgwater & Albion.

Bridgwater have yet to win a game this season, with 12th-placed Quins having won just once.

Another victory gives Quins the chance to pull clear of the relegation zone, but defeat would leave them low on morale ahead of next week’s Oxfordshire derby at Chinnor.

Wing Christoph Bart replaces the injured Xavier Andre (twisted ankle) as Henley Hawks target a seventh successive National 2 South victory at Shelford.

Bart is raring to go after returning from an impressive spell with North Harbour in New Zealand.

Hooker Ant Brennan is out with a neck injury, so Will Bigley replaces him.

Flanker Ryan Long and prop Jim Hadfield return on the bench.

Lock Charlie Bennett comes into the Witney side for their trip to Maidenhead in Southern Counties North.

Bennett replaces Marc Copperwheat, who drops to the bench, where there are also spots for fly half Pierre Dubost and prop Mark Fuller.

No 8 Joe Bellinger and centres Jamie Burns and Peter Cakebread come in for Southern Counties North leaders Grove, who visit Windsor.

The team list on their website is accompanied by the message: “Please note there is to be no drinking of alcohol en-route to Windsor by anyone”.

A sober display will certainly improve their chances of a fourth straight win.

Bicester will be without skipper Tim Phipps for their home game against Phoenix in the BB&O Premier Division.
