OXFORDSHIRE’S Jonathan Pettitt missed out on glory in the final round of the 2011 Red Bull Pro Nationals Elite Youth Cup series at Culham Park, near Abingdon.
More than 4,000 spectators crammed in to watch the event – and were kept entertained by a championship decider.
Pettitt, from Bicester, and Luke Remmer went into the race level on points at the top of the standings.
But it was Remmer who clinched the 125cc expert championship with victory on the day.
Pettitt came seventh at Culham, but that was still enough to clinch the overall runners-up spot.
