Section 3 outfit Headington Conservative Club came close to a shock win in the Scotlands Ash League Cup, losing 3-2 at Premier side Didcot Conservative Club.
Stuart Florey (6,220) and Dennis Atkins (6,890) put the Didcot side 2-0 up, but then Headington hit back to level 2-2 with wins by Graham Mildenhall and Keith Hollis.
In the deciding game, Didcot’s Jenny Florey held her nerve to beat Dave Gordon to seal victory.

LEAGUE officials are sad to report the death of Vikings’ stalwart, Tony Harvey, who collapsed during his side’s match at Democrats.
Mr Harvey had suffered a heart attack, and died later in hospital.
