Abingdon United bagged their first point for five matches with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Bishop’s Cleeve in Division 1 South & West.
It was Abingdon’s first clean sheet since their opening-day win against Taunton.
Neither goalkeeper had a shot of note to save in a turgid first half, with Adam Mace’s free kick finding the arms of James Foster in the Abingdon goal and Scott Griffin firing straight at the visiting keeper.
After the break, Abingdon tried to take charge, but with little to show for their efforts.
Ten minutes from time, Bishop Cleeve’s Warren Mann struck the woodwork. And in the dying minutes Carl Evans’s shot hit the foot of a post before going to the keeper.
Abingdon Utd: J Foster, Buck, Wimble (Austin 80), Allaway, Carnel, Doyle, McCready, Biddle, Griffin (Evans 70), Parfitt (Young 80), Collier. Subs not used: Smith, A Foster.
Attendance: 62
