PETER Leven is likely to take penalties – if Oxford United ever get one!
The U’s have not been awarded a spot-kick in the opening ten matches of the season.
But with last season’s regular penalty-take Tom Craddock still injured, Scotsman Leven is the one likely to step up to the mark according to boss Chris Wilder.
“I think we have got some good candidates to take penalties – there are some very good technical players at the football club,” Wilder said.
“Peter Leven would be the obvious choice, but I know that we have got other players here who would be prepared and have the courage to step up and take a penalty whether it be in the first minute or the last minute.
“It would be nice to get one, but we’ll just keep going.”
The lack of a penalty has not been mentioned until now, so if United get one tomorrow, thank us!
