BANBURY 5 BEACONSFIELD 1
BANBURY eased through to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup with a comprehensive victory in their first ever meeting with Beaconsfield.
The score-line did not flatter the home side who bagged an early goal and were always on top. Banbury opened the scoring in the 6th minute when Wayne Blossom headed the ball forward and Howard Forinton beat the Beaconsfield defence.
In the 26th minute, United got a deserved second goal when a corner-kick was met by Blossom who headed powerfully home.
In the 38th minute it was 3-0. Bridges sent over a defence-splitting pass to Jon Gardner who beat the advancing Beames from the edge of the penalty area.
Beaconsfield pulled a goal back in the 40th minute when Riccardo Cannon found himself in acres of space, and he beat Alan Judge from 12 yards.
Two minutes later, Banbury regained their three goal advantage when Gardner scored with a 20-yarder.
United got their fifth, three minutes into the second half. Redknap sent in a fierce shot which Beames did well to parry but Blossom was on hand to head home.
