BICESTER Bluefins clinched promotion to Division 1 of the Milton Keynes & District Junior League.

Bluefins went into the Division 2 gala on top of the table, but a third-place finish on the day was enough to secure promotion.

Final result: 1= Brompton, Luton 222pts, 3 Bicester 209, 4 Ealing B 172, 5 Wellingborough 139.

Final standings: 1 Brompton 35pts, 2 Luton 33, 3 Bicester 32, 4 Ealing B 28, 5 Wellingborough 25.

  • WITNEY took the final Division 3 round at Leighton Buzzard by 55 points.

The swimmer-of-the-match award went to nine-year-old Maddie Good for her victory and personal best in the nine & under girls’ 25m freestyle.

Result: 1 Witney 240pts, 2 Maxwell B 185, 3 Flitwick 173, 4 LBSC 171, 5 Newport Pagnell 150.
