Ray Spence (pictured) hit a hat-trick as Oxford City swept aside Chertsey Town 5-0 in the FA Cup first qualifying round tie at Court Place Farm.
Chertsey had to make an early substitution when Paul Watson suffered a head injury after three minutes.
City went ahead in the 20th minute when Spence worked his magic along the goal-line before setting himself up to fire under Michael Piwonski.
Spence struck again eight minutes later, lobbing the keeper from 30 yards.
The City striker was proving too hot to handle for the visitors and he also had a hand in the next two goals.
He tried to round the keeper in the 32nd minute, but after his effort was blocked, Ryan Williams fired home the rebound.
Ten minutes later, Spence's powerful shot was parried by the keeper and Alex Stewart had the simple task of tapping in No 4.
Chertsey started the second half well, with David Patterson shooting off target and Matt Grave striking an upright.
But City sealed the victory in the 74th minute when Lee Rendell's free-kick was collected by Spence, who completed his hat-trick from the narrowest of angles.
City had a chance for No 6 when they were awarded a penalty in the closing minutes, but Aaron Williams's spot-kick was saved by the keeper.
THE draw for the FA Cup second qualifying round takes place today. Details in tomorrow's Oxford Mail.
