Steve Avenall's second-half equaliser earned Carterton a replay at Kilkenny Lane tomorrow in their first qualifying round tie against Maidenhead United.
Avenall struck in the 76th minute, pouncing on a rebounded after Maidenhead keeper Chico Ramos failed to hold skipper Kevin Lewis's tremendous shot.
It was no more than Carterton deserved and now they can look forward to the chance of springing an upset against the unbeaten Southern League Premier Division side.
Despite having plenty of first-half possession, Maidenhead rarely threatened the Carterton goal and it wasn't until the 34th minute that they took the lead.
Rob Hughes delivered a pin-point cross from a corner for Craig O'Connor to head powerfully past Steve Ben- bow.
Carterton came under pressure, but they reached half-time without conceding again, with Jerry Packham once again in excellent form.
Benbow made some fine saves to keep Maidenhead at bay in the second half, before Avenall equalised.
O'Connor had a great chance to win the tie for Maidenhead when he raced through in a one-on-one situation with Benbow, but shot over the bar.
