BURFORD’S Simon Hopkins holed a 30-foot putt to clinch a 2-1 victory at Chipping Norton in Section 1 of the Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes League.
Victory extends Burford’s lead, while Chippy are still third, despite not winning at home this season.
Shaun Kench and Chris Heslip got Chippy off to a winning start with a 3&1 success against Adam Salter and Brett Gaertner.
Burford’s John Wilks and Donny Henderson-Sowerby pipped Matt Johnson and Mark Stanton on the 18th hole to level proceedings.
Match three was all square going down the last before Hopkins’s birdie gave him and Dave Summers victory over Chippy’s Andy Johnson and Richard Whiston.
Ellesborough stay top of Section 2 after a 2-1 victory against Carswell.
Oxford City head up Section 3, despite losing 2-1 at basement boys Feldon Valley.
