NORTH Leigh demolished Didcot Town 5-0 in their Evo-Stik Southern League clash at the Loop Meadow Stadium last night.
Michael Hopkins put the visitors ahead on 35 minutes in the Division 1 South & West encounter, and four late goals killed Didcot off.
Brian Bowles, debutant Jimmy Deabill, former Didcot man Elliott Osborne-Ricketts and Andy McCabe did the damage on 70, 81, 85 and 90 minutes respectively.
Abingdon United lost 3-1 at home to Halesown Town.
The hosts hit the woodwork three times in the opening quarter, with Steve Davis, Luke Carnell and Sam Collier all cursing their luck.
Justin Nisbitt and Anthony Bruce put Halesown 2-0 up at half-time, and although Collier pulled one back, Nisbitt won it at the end.
Oxford City climbed to second position in the Premier Division table after defeating Frome Town 2-0 at Court Place Farm.
Steve Basham put them ahead with a 23rd-minute penalty after Declan Benjamin was fouled by Tom Evans in the box.
Andy Ballard’s long throw was headed in by Wayne Blosom for No 2 eight minutes later.
City’s Jason Mooney saved well from Josh Brigham’s second-half free-kick.
Banbury United slipped from second to fourth after losing 2-1 at home to Chesham United.
Ollie Stanbridge gave Banbury a first-minute lead, but Leon Archer and Bruce Wilson hit back for Chesham.
